What is Langkawi Cable Car (SkyCab)?

Also known as Langkawi Cable Car, Langkawi SkyCab is a 2150 meters long cable car ride that offers you a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

This 15-minute ride is full of adventure and allows you to enjoy the breathtaking views of the Machinchang mountain range. As the ride hovers over the lush green rainforest, you also get a chance to experience a glimpse of the 550 million years old rock formations.

How Do You Get to Langkawi Cable Car?

The Langkawi SkyCab has three stations:

·         Base Station

·         Middle Station

·         Top Station

The ride starts at Oriental village, located at the foothill of the Machinchang mountain; this is your base station. For the botanist and nature fanatic inside you, this ride will provide the most exhilarating experience as you enjoy a full view of the flora and fauna.

From Base Station to Middle Station, you enjoy a thrilling ride of 1,700 meters at an elevation of 650m above sea level. You can stop there to enjoy the surreal views of the mountains. 

The next ride takes you to the Top Station which is located at an elevation of 708m above sea level. The top station has two view platforms, designed to give you a 360° view of the island and Machinchang mountain.

LIMA series of exhibition has proven to be an excellent platform for aerospace and maritime manufacturers and related industries to display and promote the latest aerospace technology to senior Government officials, both civil and military and leaders of industries from Malaysia as well as the Asia Pacific region. A unique showcase for both the aerospace and maritime industries in the fast-expanding Asian commercial aviation, airport and defence markets. 

Almost at every LIMA, business deals are clinched as well as memoranda of understanding signed. The LIMA '11 exhibition for example generated business totaling RM8 Billion through numbers of contracts, letter of offer and acceptance or intent and memorandum of understanding.

Every two years LIMA becomes the focus of local and regional attention. First held in1991, the biennial Langkawi International maritime and Aerospace Exhibition is one of the Asia's most prestigious aerospace, maritime, commercial and defence events.
